Woman Arrested After Stabbing Near Kidderminster School

A 25-year-old woman has been arrested following a stabbing near a primary school in Kidderminster, West Mercia Police have confirmed. The incident occurred on Woodbury Road, close to Birchen Coppice Primary Academy, on the afternoon of May 1.

The victim, a man in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital. His condition is described as serious but not life-threatening.

Arrest and Investigation

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody. Detective Inspector Dave Knight stated that the attack is believed to have been targeted, with the suspect known to the victim. He added that there is no threat to the wider community.

Officers have increased their presence in the area to reassure residents, particularly those associated with the school. The stabbing did not occur on school premises, and police have confirmed that the incident is not linked to the school.
