Woman Appears in Court Following Co-op Robbery Charge

A woman from Birmingham is set to face magistrates after being charged in connection with a robbery at a Co-op store in the city.

Nicola Brown, aged 42, was arrested on Erdington High Street at around 2pm on Sunday, November 23. The arrest was made by officers from the West Midlands Police operation known as Op Skybridge.

Details of the Charge and Arrest

Brown, of The Leverretts in Birmingham, has been formally charged with a robbery that took place at an unspecified Co-op branch in Birmingham back in July this year.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed the details, stating: "We were called to Erdington High Street following reports of a robbery at a shop. Officers from the Skybridge team swiftly attended and arrested a 42-year-old woman."

The spokesperson added that Nicola Brown has now been charged with robbery and will appear before magistrates at a later date.

Proactive Policing in the Community

The arrest forms part of the ongoing work by the Op Skybridge team, which conducts proactive enforcement across Birmingham.

The police force highlighted that the team actively targets offenders and disrupts criminal activity by deploying to different areas of the city. They reported that this strategy has already led to "significant results" in their efforts to improve community safety.

Authorities are encouraging the public to follow their local news channels and social media for further updates on the Skybridge team's operations.
