British Transport Police are appealing for the public's help to identify a man in connection with a sexual assault on a woman aboard a train bound for Birmingham. The incident occurred on Thursday, May 7, between 2pm and 3pm, on a service from Northampton to Birmingham New Street Station.
Details of the assault
The suspect boarded the train at Northampton and sexually assaulted the woman before alighting at Coventry. Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to. He is described as white, clean-shaven, with short ginger hair. At the time, he was wearing a black Nike jacket over a white Nike top, white or cream shorts, white trainers and socks, and carrying a crossbody bag.
Authorities believe the man walks with a distinctive limp, which may aid identification.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Detectives have released an image of a man they'd like to speak to after a woman was sexually assaulted on a train in Northampton. The incident happened between 2pm and 3pm on Thursday, May 7. A man boarded the train at Northampton and sexually assaulted a woman before leaving the train at Coventry. Officers believe the man – who is described as walking with a distinctive limp – could have information that may assist their enquiries.”
