Two women who lost their lives in a devastating early morning collision in Derbyshire have been formally identified by police.

Details of the Fatal Collision

Amie Pearson, aged 26, and Chelsea Carlisle, aged 29, died at the scene after the Suzuki Alto they were travelling in was involved in a crash with a Vauxhall Meriva. The incident occurred on Common Lane in Pleasley at approximately 6.20am on Thursday, November 27.

Ms Pearson was driving the Suzuki, with Ms Carlisle as her passenger. Despite the efforts of emergency services, both women could not be saved. A nine-year-old boy, who was also a passenger in the Suzuki, sustained what police describe as 'serious life changing injuries'. He remains in hospital receiving treatment.

Arrest and Appeal for Information

Three men travelling in the Vauxhall Meriva were also injured, two of them seriously. An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Due to injuries he sustained in the collision, he was also taken to hospital, where he remains.

Derbyshire Constabulary has issued a renewed appeal for witnesses. A spokesperson said: "We remain keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, as well as anyone who has any information." The force extended its condolences, stating: "Their families are aware and our thoughts remain with them."
