Nottingham Launches £100 Supermarket Voucher Scheme for 10,000 Households
£100 Cost of Living Vouchers for Nottingham Households

Thousands of households in Nottingham are set to receive a vital financial boost this winter, as a new scheme offering £100 supermarket vouchers opens for applications. The initiative is part of a wider expansion of the Household Support Fund by the Labour Party government, administered by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

How the £100 Voucher Scheme Works

From Monday, 1st December 2025, eligible residents in Nottingham can apply for one of 10,000 vouchers, each worth £100. The local council has confirmed that applications opened today, with successful bids potentially being approved on the same day. All applicants will receive an email confirmation regarding the status of their application by Friday, 12th December 2025.

The council has been clear that this round of support is exclusively for supermarket spending. "No energy vouchers are in this release," they stated. Residents are encouraged to apply even if they have received a supermarket voucher earlier in the year or are waiting for one from a previous round in November 2025.

Key Dates and Application Details

If your application is successful, you should receive your £100 voucher code by 31st January 2026. The council has warned that it may take until this date for all vouchers to be issued and has asked residents not to make enquiries about vouchers until after this deadline.

It is crucial to note that all voucher codes must be redeemed within four weeks of being issued, or they will expire and will not be re-issued. For those who are unsuccessful in this round, a second chance will be available shortly afterwards.

Second Chance to Apply in February

The local authority has outlined a follow-up opportunity for residents who do not receive a voucher in the December round. A new application window will open from 2nd February 2026 until midnight on 8th February 2026. This subsequent round will offer both supermarket and energy vouchers, providing further support for struggling households.

This targeted support comes as the council aims to provide direct assistance with essential food costs ahead of and following the Christmas period, acknowledging the ongoing pressures from the cost of living crisis.
