Emergency Services Respond to Canal Incident
Emergency services were called to the canal off Halesowen Road in Netherton at around 8.40pm on Thursday, June 25, after a man's body was discovered in the water. Despite their efforts, the man could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Treat Death as Unexplained
West Midlands Police have stated that the death is currently being treated as unexplained. A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called after a man's body was discovered in the canal off Halesowen Road at just after 8.40pm yesterday (June 25). Sadly, nothing could be done to save him and our thoughts are with his loved ones at this devastating time. The death is currently being treated as unexplained and anyone with information can contact us."
Appeal for Witnesses
Police are appealing for anyone who may have information about the incident to come forward. West Midlands Ambulance Service has also been approached for comment.
