Final Opportunity for Eligible Pensioners to Claim Free Air Fryers in North Lincolnshire

State pensioners across North Lincolnshire are being given a final opportunity to obtain free air fryers through a council-led energy-saving initiative, with officials urging swift action as only 1,000 appliances remain available.

Council Scheme Nears Conclusion After Distributing Thousands of Appliances

The North Lincolnshire Council program has already provided approximately 15,000 residents with free energy-efficient cooking devices designed to help reduce household energy expenses while promoting healthy eating habits. Council leader Cllr Rob Waltham emphasized the urgency, stating, "This scheme has already helped thousands of pensioners save money and stay healthy – and now we're down to the final appliances."

He added a direct message to older residents: "If you're eligible and haven't applied yet, don't miss out. Once these are gone, they're gone."

Eligibility Requirements and Available Appliance Options

To qualify for the free appliance, applicants must meet specific criteria: they must reside in North Lincolnshire, be of pension age (currently 66 years old), have been born before 1959, and must not have previously received an appliance through any council scheme.

Eligible households can receive one energy-efficient cooking device, which may include an air fryer, slow cooker, or kettle. Additionally, recipients gain access to complimentary healthy cooking sessions designed to help maximize the benefits of their new appliance.

Council Expresses Regret as Program Draws to a Close

Cllr Tim Mitchell, cabinet member for sustainability and transformation, expressed disappointment about the scheme's conclusion, noting, "We're genuinely sorry that the scheme is now drawing to a close, because we know how much of a difference these appliances make to people's everyday lives."

He further cautioned, "The last thing we want is for pensioners who would really benefit to miss out simply because they didn't realise time was running out. If you're eligible and haven't applied yet, please do so now – this support is there to be used."

The council initiative has proven exceptionally popular among local retirees, with the remaining stock expected to be claimed rapidly. Officials stress that this represents the absolute final opportunity for qualified pensioners to benefit from this particular energy-saving program.
