The West Midlands Police horses are back on duty for the Aston Villa victory parade, and these special officers have some luxurious perks. The force's Mounted Unit stables at Tally Ho! in Edgbaston house horses like Belgravia, Bruce, and Carter, who enjoy grazing space, a specialist vet, and regular care from grooms. They receive pedicures from a farrier, dental checkups, and weekly massage rugs to keep their muscles healthy. A solarium in the stables acts as a horse sunbed. On their days off, they graze in pairs, but today they are out in Birmingham keeping crowds safe. According to the City of London Police, one horse and rider equals ten officers on the ground due to their commanding presence. The force advises the public to respect the horses, ask permission before approaching, and only touch the rider in emergencies. The parade follows Aston Villa's 3-0 win over SC Freiburg in Istanbul, their first European title in 44 years. Roads are closed as the team travels from the Jewellery Quarter to Centenary Square. Fans packed the Utilita Arena fan park and Broad Street venues. Many Brummies are returning from Turkiye. Stay with our live blog for parade updates.
