Miller Homes Fund Supports Widnes Students with Sports Kits

Miller Homes is supporting young people in Widnes through its Community Fund, with a recent contribution to The Raise Academy, helping to support students through sport at the specialist education provision.

About The Raise Academy

The Raise Academy supports young people experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties, delivering a personalised and engaging curriculum tailored to each student’s individual needs. Through specialist teaching and a focus on inclusion, the academy works to create equal opportunities and positive outcomes for its students and the wider community.

Donation Impact

The £375 donation from the Miller Homes Community Fund has contributed towards new sports kits for students, supporting the school’s plans to enter the ECB League and compete in inter-school competitions. As a school where sport plays an important role in building confidence, teamwork and a sense of belonging, the new kit will give students a sense of pride as they represent their school.

Rachael Porter, Pastoral Support Worker at The Raise Academy, said: “Sport is a huge part of life here at The Raise Academy, helping our students to build confidence, develop friendships and feel part of a team. Having a professional kit makes such a difference to how they see themselves and how they represent the school. We’re incredibly grateful to Miller Homes for their support, which will help our young people take part in competitions with pride.”

Clare Noakes, Sales Director at Miller Homes North West, added: “We are proud to support The Raise Academy, which plays such an important role in the local community. The work they do to support young people is truly inspiring, and we’re pleased that our Community Fund can help contribute towards opportunities that build confidence and bring students together.”

Community Fund Initiative

The donation forms part of Miller Homes’ Community Fund initiative, which has supported more than 350 local charities, schools and community groups across the North West, helping to make a positive impact in the areas where they build. Location: Widnes in Cheshire.
