The Blue Flag beach awards for 2026 have been announced, and many award-winning beaches are within easy reach of Birmingham. A total of 126 beaches have received Blue Flag and/or Seaside Awards, along with one marina and one inland bathing water. Among these, 63 beaches have been granted Blue Flag status, the world’s most recognized award for beaches, marinas, and inland waters. Additionally, 106 beaches now hold Seaside Awards, with 41 achieving both accolades.
