More than 10,000 visitors packed the streets of Accrington for the spectacular return of the #AmazingAccrington Food and Drink Festival on Saturday, June 6. The town centre buzzed with excitement as crowds enjoyed an incredible array of local, regional, and international stalls.
New Taste of Hyndburn Tent
A major highlight of this year's festival was the brand-new Taste of Hyndburn Tent. This area showcased some of the finest independent businesses from across the borough, offering visitors a fantastic selection of local produce, including a special gin bar.
Entertainment and Activities
The festival featured a packed programme of entertainment, including live cooking demonstrations from local chefs and television personalities. Musicians and 1940s performers filled the streets with music, while popular funfair rides kept families smiling throughout the day. Accrington Market also joined in by hosting a free apple giveaway for local families. Brave visitors tested their tastebuds in an exciting new chilli-eating competition.
D-Day Commemorations
The event also provided an important opportunity for reflection and remembrance. Visitors joined together for moving commemorations to mark the 82nd anniversary of D-Day. The tribute included a town centre parade, a short service, historical re-enactments, and military displays.
