Former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt has posted a deeply emotional message online, expressing what the opportunity to appear in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special truly means to her.
A Dream Come True on Christmas Day
The 35-year-old television personality shared her feelings on social media on December 22, just days before the festive episode is set to air on Christmas Day. Moffatt, who is partnered with professional dancer Vito Coppola for the special, explained that participating in the programme "means everything" to her.
In her candid post, she revealed a poignant reason why she never expected to dance on the main series. "I know I’ll probably never get to dance on the main Strictly series because of my past dance experience when I was a little girl," she wrote, "so getting to be part of the Christmas special means everything to me."
Dance as a 'Safe Place'
Moffatt opened up about the significant role dance played in her childhood, contrasting it with her school experiences. "School wasn’t always easy for me, but dance was my safe place," she confessed. "It’s where I found my people, where I felt happiest, and where I could just be me."
She described the upcoming performance as a "true bucket-list moment", one of those quiet wishes you never truly believe will happen. "Dancing on the Strictly Christmas Special, on Christmas Day, feels like a true bucket-list moment — one of those wishes you make quietly and never really expect to come true," she added.

The heartfelt message was accompanied by a touching video montage, which spliced together clips of a young Scarlett ballroom dancing with recent footage of her rehearsing with Vito Coppola.
