Free Eternity Screenings: See the Film First on 1-2 Dec
Free Eternity Cinema Screenings Next Week

Film enthusiasts across the UK are being offered a special treat next week: the chance to see a major new release for free before it hits cinemas officially.

An Exclusive First Look

Escapes, the BFI-backed initiative, is hosting complimentary preview screenings of the new romantic fantasy Eternity on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd December. This provides a unique opportunity for audiences to be among the very first to witness this highly anticipated film ahead of its general release on Friday 5th December.

Directed by the acclaimed David Freyne (known for Dating Amber and The Cured), the film boasts an impressive cast including Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, Callum Turner, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and John Early. The screenplay is written by Pat Cunnane, with Tim White and Trevor White serving as producers.

A Heart-Stirring Romantic Fantasy

Eternity presents a bold and captivating vision of the afterlife. The story follows Joan, who finds herself in a vivid afterlife where souls are given one week to make a monumental decision: where, and with whom, they will spend eternity.

The plot thickens when Joan is reunited with her late husband, Larry. However, she soon discovers that her first love, Luke, has been waiting for her for 67 years. This forces her into an impossible choice between the life she actually lived and the life she might have had.

Lit by captivating performances and Freyne's striking visual style, the film is being hailed as a dazzling and deeply human exploration of love, choice, and what constitutes a life well-lived.

Bringing Cinema Back to Communities

This event marks the close of a successful year for the Escapes programme. Since its launch in February 2024, funded by the BFI using National Lottery money, Escapes has been instrumental in bringing audiences back to independent cinemas nationwide.

To date, over 180,000 free tickets have been claimed for its diverse programme, which includes cult classics, award-winning features, and exclusive previews of upcoming releases like Point Break, The Penguin Lessons, and The Surfer.

Arriving at more than 100 cinemas across the country, Escapes remains committed to making cinema accessible for all. Every screening, including these for Eternity, will feature descriptive subtitles to ensure a wider audience can enjoy the film.

Tickets are completely free and are available to book now via the official website, escapetothecinema.co.uk/tickets, or through the Escapes Cinematik app.
