New Sky Thriller 'Prisoner' from Peaky Blinders Director

Fans of high-octane television are in for a treat, as the acclaimed director behind the iconic series Peaky Blinders is set to launch a gripping new thriller on Sky next year.

A Lethal Partnership Forged in Chaos

Otto Bathurst, the BAFTA-winning director, is helming the new series titled Prisoner. The first look has been unveiled, confirming Tahar Rahim (The Serpent) and Izuka Hoyle (Boiling Point) will take on the explosive lead roles.

The series is crafted by Oscar-nominated writer Matt Charman, renowned for scripting Bridge of Spies and the Channel 4 series Hostage. The plot launches when an improbable duo find themselves thrust together in a deadly situation.

Hoyle plays Amber, a principled prison transport officer, while Rahim portrays Tibor, a trained killer and high-value inmate. The story kicks into gear when Amber is ordered to transport Tibor to court, where he is due to give evidence against his own elite criminal organisation.

A Relentless Cat-and-Mouse Chase

Their escort is brutally attacked, leaving Amber and Tibor as the only survivors. Forced to flee while still shackled together, the pair must set aside their deep-seated animosity to escape a lethal danger that is pursuing them relentlessly.

Sky's description of the show sets the tense tone: "Trust becomes a weapon and their shackled survival a moral dilemma, forcing Amber to confront how far she'll go to protect what matters most." The first thrilling image from the series showcases the two characters fleeing from the destroyed convoy, setting the stage for an adrenaline-fuelled game of cat-and-mouse.
