Apple iPhone Air Hits Record Low Price in Sky Mobile Summer Sale
Apple iPhone Air Gets Record £100 Price Cut in Sky Sale

Apple's slimmest-ever iPhone Air has been reduced by more than £100 as Sky Mobile launches an early summer sale, giving Apple enthusiasts the chance to secure the 'lowest ever price' for the new device.

Sky Mobile's Record Low Price

The iPhone Air, which arrived in September as part of the iPhone 17 range, has been cut to £24 per month (down from £27) when spreading the cost. Sky claims this represents a record low price for the handset, delivering a total saving of £108 over the 36-month contract period. The offer applies to the 256GB model, while the iPhone Air 512GB has dropped to £28 per month (was £31). Both options require a £12 upfront payment to secure the deal, which can be combined with one of Sky's data packages that are currently half price for three months. Notable options include 10GB for £7 (usually £14) and 50GB for £10 (usually £20).

Additional Offers and Conditions

The same deals are available with Apple's 2025 budget-friendly iPhone 16e, which has fallen to £16 per month (was £17) over 36 months. Each offer runs until 17th June, but there are a couple of conditions: while Sky's iPhone Air contracts last 36 months, customers can upgrade to a new handset from 24 months at no extra cost. However, Sky states that its prices 'may change' during the contract period. Elsewhere, Carphone Warehouse offers the iPhone Air on a shorter 24-month contract at £35.99 per month with £29 upfront, including 100GB of data at no extra cost.

Contract-Free Option

For those who prefer to avoid a contract, Amazon has slashed £250 off the iPhone Air, bringing it down to £749 (was £999) when ordering in Cloud White, Space Black, or Sky Blue.

Expert Review: The Wow Factor

Technology Editor Dave Snelling was impressed by the iPhone Air when he first saw it at Apple's launch event in California, describing it as having 'the wow factor'. 'The Air measures in at just 5.6mm thick. That not only makes it the thinnest iPhone Apple has ever made, but it's also skinnier than Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge. The pictures really don't do the design any justice at all. This device definitely has the wow factor and will also take up far less space in those skinny jeans,' he said.

David also highlighted the 'very impressive' processing power of the handset: 'The Air is getting a very impressive A19 Pro chip under its glass and metal shell, the same processor that powers the top-end iPhone 17 Pro models. This super brain will ensure the Air keeps pace with all your daily digital needs and offers decent performance when gaming on the move.'

Considerations Before Buying

Nevertheless, David flagged some crucial considerations for potential iPhone Air shoppers. 'To keep things thin, Apple has only put one camera on the rear case. That means there's no ultra-wide snapper or telephoto lens for zooming. The company promises that its 48MP Fusion camera system offers many photographic features, such as different focal lengths and portrait mode. It can also shoot video in pin-sharp 4K with Dolby Vision. However, this is clearly a slight compromise that iPhone fans will need to consider.'

He also pointed out that the device's battery life would fall short of other iPhone models: 'There's no hiding the fact that a thinner phone means a smaller battery inside. Apple is promising all-day life but has admitted that it won't last as long as the iPhone 17 Pro.'
