Birkenhead Choral Society is set to continue its landmark 70th anniversary celebrations with an enchanting evening of choral singing at St Saviour's Church in Oxton. The concert, titled Songs and Sonnets, will take place at 7:30pm on Saturday, June 13, and explores the deep connection between literature and song.
Programme Highlights
The rich and expressive programme features music inspired by poetry from iconic writers such as William Shakespeare, John Masefield, A. E. Housman, and A. A. Milne, alongside compositions by Edward Elgar. Audiences can expect a memorable night of voices and verse in the beautiful setting of St Saviour's Church.
Guest Artists and Conductors
The choir will be joined by exceptional guest soloists Andrew Lamb (baritone) and Nathaniel Migas (tenor), with accompaniment by organist Jon Barton. The performance will be conducted by David Holroyd.
Ticket Information
Tickets are priced at £15 and are available from choir members or online via TryBooking. Entry is free for under-19s. While tickets will be available on the door, organizers advise booking in advance as popular concerts do sell out.
