Birmingham Bakery Launches Cobosa: Samosa-Stuffed Cob

A Birmingham bakery has potentially created the city's ultimate food by combining two local favourites. Crusty Cottage Bakery in Quinton has launched the Cobosa, a hearty dish featuring a samosa stuffed inside a fresh cob, accompanied by salad and sauce.

New Invention Sparks Excitement

The bakery, run by Joanne and Ross Jones, shared the creation on Facebook, describing it as a new special. The Cobosa comes in two varieties: a lamb samosa on a cob with fresh salad and mint sauce, and a chicken tikka samosa on a cob with fresh salad and sweet chilli sauce.

A reader who spotted the invention online said: "I went to get a sandwich from my local bakery today and stumbled across what is potentially the ultimate Birmingham food combination! The crusty cottage in Quinton has combined two of Birmingham's favourite food items to come up with… The Cobosa! A fresh samosa in a fresh cob with salad and sauces. This seriously has to be one of the best Birmingham food combinations in a long long time!"

Another customer urged the bakery to add the Cobosa to Uber Eats, saying: "Please put this on the Uber app - would love to try it."

The Cobosa adds to Birmingham's rich culinary heritage, which already includes the famous Birmingham Balti. Whether this new creation will achieve similar iconic status remains to be seen, but early indications suggest it has captured the imagination of food lovers in the city.
