Cyprus Eurovision 2026 Entry Antigoni Buxton Love Island

Eurovision Song Contest enthusiasts may recognise Cyprus's 2026 entry Antigoni Buxton, who first gained fame on the popular ITV2 reality show Love Island. The 26-year-old singer will perform her upbeat track 'Jalla' at the contest in Vienna this weekend.

From Love Island to Eurovision

Buxton entered the Love Island villa as a bombshell in 2022, alongside contestants like Ekin-Su, Luca Bish, and Indiyah Polack. However, her stay was short-lived, as she was dumped by the boys after just eight days. Following her departure, she returned to her musical roots, releasing singles including 'Red Flag', 'Tomboy', 'Lie Lie', and 'Habibi'. She also toured with Greek artists Marina Satti and Eleni Foureira.

Cyprus Connection

Although not born or raised in Cyprus, Buxton's mother is famed chef Tonia Buxton, who ensured her children remained immersed in Greek culture. Antigoni speaks fluent Greek and holds a Greek record deal, which paved the way for her Eurovision participation. She resides in North London with her family, including two brothers, a sister, and her English architect father.

The Song 'Jalla'

Buxton's Eurovision entry 'Jalla', meaning 'more' in Greek Cypriot, is performed in both Cypriot and English. The upbeat track, co-written by Buxton and other producers, celebrates Mediterranean culture, fun, and partying. The performance will feature a troupe of dancers.

This year's Eurovision also features recognisable faces like Australia's Delta Goodrem and the UK's Look Mum No Computer. Buxton's journey from reality TV to the Eurovision stage highlights her enduring passion for music and performance.
