Dudley Zoo is celebrating Sir David Attenborough's 100th birthday in a touching way that could save parents up to £14. The zoo is offering children's tickets for just 100p from Thursday, May 7, to Sunday, May 10.

Pre-booked tickets for children aged three to 15 normally cost £15.50, or £16.95 with Gift Aid. On-the-door prices can reach £18.40. The special discounted tickets must be pre-booked online alongside a full-paying adult.

Sir David Attenborough turns 100 on Friday, May 8. To mark the occasion, Dudley Zoo is offering this limited-time promotion. A zoo spokesman said: 'We're celebrating Sir David Attenborough's centenary birthday later this week by offering children zoo admission for just 100p from Thursday to Sunday!'

The £1 tickets for children aged three to 15 need to be pre-booked online with a full-paying adult and are valid from May 7 to May 10. The spokesman added: 'With many schools in the Dudley borough closed on Thursday due to local elections, why not spend the day here at the zoo learning how we can protect the amazing animals we have on our planet?'

Adult tickets cost £20.85, or £22.95 with Gift Aid, when pre-booked online. The zoo is open daily from 10am to 5.30pm, except Christmas Day, with last admission at 4pm. Dudley Zoo is home to African painted dogs, flamingos, Asiatic lions, orangutans, pythons, giraffes, and more.
