Popular cafe chain EL&N has closed its branch in Fenwick Newcastle just 18 months after opening, leaving fans disappointed. The Birmingham location, along with others in York, Chester, and 10 London stores, remains open.
Viral Sensation Shuts Down
The chic pink-themed cafe, known for its Instagram-worthy decor and sweet treats, became a viral hit when it opened in Newcastle. However, the chain announced its closure via a Facebook post from Fenwick Newcastle.
The statement read: "Last chance to experience EL&N at Fenwick Newcastle! Time is nearly up at EL&N, with the last orders on Thursday 30 April 2026. After a year packed with events, EL&N will close this April."
Customer Reactions
Many customers expressed disappointment on social media. One wrote: "Very disappointed with this news. It's such a great venue with great staff. Good luck to Mark and the rest of the staff, best wishes for the future."
EL&N operates 35 branches globally, offering a range of sweet treats and drinks in a signature pink setting. The closure affects only the Newcastle store, with all other UK locations continuing to trade.
