A brand new 'shocking' true crime show, dubbed Birmingham's own 24 Hours in Police Custody, is set to return with another chilling episode tonight. Major Crimes Unit premiered on Channel 5 last week and has already been branded the perfect watch for fans of the popular police documentary series, as it plunges viewers into real-life criminal investigations.
Unprecedented Access to West Midlands Police
With unprecedented access to the elite crime-fighting unit, the show shines a spotlight on the specialist department within West Midlands Police Force. Episodes are released weekly, and Channel 5 viewers are already gripped, having been shocked by the first episode's 'brutal' crimes. Tonight (May 18), a brand new episode will air on Channel 5 at 9pm, covering another chilling crime.
Tonight's Episode: Shooting in Dudley
A Channel 5 synopsis reads: 'The team are tasked with identifying the perpetrators behind a shooting in Dudley.' Major Crimes Unit follows specialist detectives as they fight for justice, bringing to light horrific truths and putting their skills to the test as they are trained to uncover the subtlest of clues.
In the first episode released last week, the narrator could be heard saying: 'A clue, a fragment, something is always left behind. In the West Midlands, the Major Crimes Unit follows every lead. Specialist detectives trained to spot the most subtle of clues, piecing together the truth and never giving up until those responsible are brought to justice.'
Viewers Hooked and Eager for More
True crime fans are eagerly awaiting brand new episodes, which will air every Monday evening. Taking to social media, one person wrote: 'I can't wait to see the next episodes', while another said: 'It was brilliant.' In a TikTok video, a true crime fan exclaimed: 'If you didn't watch Major Crimes Unit last night wow, that was absolutely shocking. I knew it was going to be good.' They added: 'If you haven't watched that, it's well worth a watch if you've missed it.'
