Inside New Jewellery Quarter Cafe-Bar with Unique Order-In Twist
New Jewellery Quarter Cafe-Bar: Order-In from Local Restaurants

Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter has a new hotspot. Craft and Culture, a cafe-bar located inside the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter on Vyse Street, opens today (Thursday, May 7). It serves as a community hub by day and a bar by night, with a unique twist: visitors can order food from their favourite local restaurants to enjoy on-site.

A New Concept in Dining

The venue offers speciality coffees and hot drinks during the day, creating a welcoming space for locals and museum-goers. In the evening, it transforms into a bar with a curated wine list and craft beers. Patrons can order takeaway from nearby eateries and eat it at the cafe-bar, supporting local businesses.

Events and Workshops

Craft and Culture will host a regular programme of events, including craft beer tastings, jewellery-making workshops, creative sessions, and talks by guest makers and artists. The aim is to become a vibrant community hub that celebrates the area's creative spirit.

A spokesperson for the venue said: "It's all going on in the Jewellery Quarter right now. Craft and Culture opens this Thursday within the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter and will be a cafe by day and bar by night. The cafe will serve speciality coffees and act as a community hub during the day, and in the evening they'll serve a curated wine list alongside craft beers, with visitors able to order food from their favourite local restaurants to be enjoyed at the cafe-bar both during the day and in the evening."

They added: "Alongside this, Craft and Culture will also host a regular programme of events including beer and wine tastings, jewellery and creative workshops, and collaborations with guest makers and artists. Be sure to go visit and support them. Viva JQ!"

Part of a Growing Trend

The opening follows the launch of Hive in the Park, a community cafe in a historic house in Erdington. Both venues reflect a growing interest in multifunctional spaces that combine food, drink, and community activities.
