Primark Closes Disney Cafe at Birmingham Store

Primark has announced the closure of its Disney Cafe at the world's largest Primark store in Birmingham, marking the end of a seven-year run for the popular feature. The cafe, which opened with the flagship store in April 2019, served its last customers on Wednesday, May 6.

Disney Cafe Closure Details

The Disney Cafe was a major attraction when the store replaced the former Pavilions Shopping Centre off High Street, near the Bullring. It offered themed treats such as Mickey Mouse pancakes and drew long queues at its launch. However, Primark has decided to close the concession as part of a broader review of its in-store offerings.

A Primark spokesperson stated: "We know how important our stores are to our customers and we're constantly reviewing them to ensure we provide the best shopping experience. As we've expanded our own product offering, we are adapting our spaces so that each store is best set up to cater to local customer preferences."

Impact on Other Concessions

The Disney Cafe is no longer listed on Primark's website for the Birmingham store. However, the Tasty by Greggs concession within the same store is expected to remain open. Primark noted that over the next 12 months, customers will see the closure of some concessions across its stores, with decisions based on each store's size and location.

The company emphasized its commitment to working with partners during this transition, saying: "We're committed to working with our valued partners to manage this process with care and transparency, supporting them throughout."
