Beloved South London indie outfit The Maccabees have sent waves of excitement through the music scene by announcing a major UK outdoor tour scheduled for the summer of 2026.
Tour Dates and Locations
The band will embark on a five-date journey across the country in July 2026. The tour kicks off with a massive show at Alexandra Palace Park in London on July 9, followed by a performance at the prestigious Eden Sessions, Eden Project in St Austell on July 11. The tour continues later in the month with a date at Siren in Bristol on July 23, followed by One The Beach in Brighton on July 25. The finale will see the band play a huge show at the historic Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds on July 31.
Continuing a Successful Reunion
This new series of concerts builds on the immense success of the band's reunion. After announcing their indefinite hiatus in 2016 and playing farewell shows in 2017, the group made a triumphant return. Their comeback was officially heralded when they were announced as a headline act for All Points East in October 2024. The band had cleverly teased their return by updating their social media channels for the first time in years just days before the official announcement.
Their prolific return continued throughout 2025, with celebrated performances at Glastonbury and a headline slot at All Points East, proving their enduring appeal and setting the stage for this expansive 2026 tour.
A Celebration of Landmark Album
The 2026 tour will serve as a celebration of a significant milestone for the band: the 10th anniversary of their number one album, 'Marks To Prove It'. Known for their sophisticated and atmospheric indie rock, The Maccabees have a storied career. Their sound evolved dramatically from the angular post-punk revival of their debut, 'Colour It In', to the more anthemic and sprawling soundscapes of later albums like 'Given to the Wild'.
The band's initial split was not due to any dramatic fallout but was a collective decision that they had reached a natural conclusion after 14 years together. Their return has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm from fans, both old and new.
