Recycle Your Christmas Tree & Support Local Hospice Care This January
Recycle Christmas Trees for Hospice Care

As the festive season draws to a close, Greater Manchester residents can give their Christmas trees one last meaningful purpose while supporting an incredible local cause. St Ann's Hospice has launched its annual Christmas tree collection service, transforming discarded firs into vital funds for patient care.

How The Service Works

The process couldn't be simpler for households across Manchester and surrounding areas. For a suggested donation of just £10, the hospice's team of volunteers will collect your real Christmas tree directly from your doorstep during the weekend of January 13th-14th, 2024.

Booking Details & Important Dates

Residents need to register their trees online through the hospice's website before the January 8th deadline. The service covers postcodes across Greater Manchester, providing a convenient and eco-friendly solution to the annual 'what to do with the Christmas tree' dilemma.

Making A Difference Through Recycling

This innovative initiative serves a dual purpose: providing an easy disposal method for Christmas trees while generating crucial income for hospice services. Every £10 donation contributes directly to the specialist care St Ann's provides for patients and their families.

Rachel McMillan, Chief Executive of St Ann's Hospice, emphasises the impact: "Our Christmas tree collection has become a beloved tradition that makes a genuine difference. It's wonderful to see communities come together to support our work while responsibly recycling their trees."

Environmental Benefits

All collected trees are responsibly recycled, with the materials being repurposed for various environmental uses. This ensures that every part of your Christmas tree continues to give back, long after the decorations have been packed away.

Why Your Tree Matters

St Ann's Hospice relies heavily on community fundraising to continue providing free care to thousands of patients each year. The Christmas tree collection scheme has grown into one of their most successful annual campaigns, with previous years raising enough funds to support hundreds of hours of specialist nursing care.

As one recent participant shared: "It's the easiest good deed you'll do all year - they collect the tree, it gets recycled, and you help fund incredible care. What could be better?"
