Clarkson reveals Kaleb's 'b*********' over Diddly Squat skylarks
Clarkson: Kaleb took farm telling off 'like a man'

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that his Clarkson's Farm co-star, Kaleb Cooper, received a stern telling off while working on their Oxfordshire property, handling the reprimand 'like a man'.

The Clash Over Conservation

The incident unfolded when Clarkson enlisted bird specialist and local parish councillor, Hannah Bourne-Taylor, to monitor and enhance the bird population at Diddly Squat Farm. The former Top Gear host had created wildflower strips and cultivated bird-friendly blooms across the land.

However, after noticing his neighbours were doing more for wildlife, Jeremy approached Kaleb to see if they could increase their efforts. The 27-year-old farmhand, whose agricultural expertise has been vital to the farm's operations, curtly replied 'no'.

A Harvesting Dilemma

The situation reached a critical point in early June when Hannah arrived to find Kaleb harvesting a field for hay to feed the cattle during winter. She was reportedly 'distraught', exclaiming that he was 'mincing all the baby skylarks' which were too young to fly from their nests.

In his column for the Sunday Times Magazine, Clarkson wrote that Kaleb accepted the criticism but defended his actions by explaining that waiting for the skylarks to mature would have rendered the grass useless for hay.

The Agricultural Consequence

Clarkson insisted that Kaleb delay harvesting the next field, a decision which ultimately proved the farmhand correct. The delayed harvest resulted in the grass becoming unusable.

Jeremy concluded wryly that as a result, 'next spring our cows are going to look like they've been on Mounjaro', highlighting the practical challenges of balancing modern farming with wildlife conservation.

The popular Amazon Prime series, which began filming in 2019, documents Clarkson's journey running the thousand-acre farm he purchased in 2008, alongside Kaleb and his partner Lisa Hogan.
