Chester Blogger Hosts Second Charity Quiz for Cancer Charity

A well-known Chester blogger is preparing to stage his second charity quiz of 2026, following the success of a previous event in January that raised a significant sum for two local charities.

Blogger and quizmaster Richard Trotter will host the charity quiz at Chester Market on Sunday, May 10, starting at 5:30pm, with all proceeds going to the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. Richard's previous quiz in January saw a record number of teams participate and raised an impressive £1,300 for the Lord Mayor of Chester's charities: Chester Women's Aid and Upton-based Youth Club The Heath.

Evening Programme

The fundraising event will commence at 5:30pm with music from Stephen Lockhart ahead of the quiz, which will begin at 6:30pm. Medieval doctor Godfrey Garland (historical re-enactor Mike Graham) will be on call, and there will be interval entertainment from Poise Dance Studio. Entry to the quiz is £3 per person, with all proceeds going to the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity. Quizzers are encouraged to arrive early to secure a seat, given the record number of attendees at the previous quiz.

Raffle and Prizes

The evening will also include a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses including Bar Lounge, Bookingham Palace, Thingummys, Acorn Counselling, Chester Food Tours, Lux Nails, Cheshire Home Store, Kate Smallwood Ceramics, Chester BID, Soul Space Chester, Pasty Pedaleur, and Tanners Wine Merchants.
