A Special Celebration for a Centenarian
Marjorie was the guest of honor at a champagne reception held at the home, where guests enjoyed a specially crafted birthday cake made by the home's chef, Mel. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and warmth as everyone gathered to share in the celebration.
Marjorie's Fascinating Life Story
During World War II, Marjorie served as a Morse Code Operator, a skill she can still recall today. She was also a member of the Wrens, the Women's Royal Naval Service, and had a passion for ballroom dancing before moving to Tandridge Heights. Now, she is embracing a new chapter of her life at the care home.
The birthday girl expressed her gratitude, saying, "It's a real honour to spend my birthday surrounded by so many friends and special people in my life." Her joy was further amplified when singer James Lyn serenaded her with a selection of her favorite songs, adding a personal touch to the festivities.
