Donation to Fund Vital Accessibility Adaptations
A brand-new canal boat designed to bring joy to thousands of disabled and vulnerable people is receiving a major upgrade, thanks to a £5,000 donation from a local homebuilder. The funding, from developer Persimmon Homes North Midlands, has been awarded to the Peter Le Marchant Trust and will pay for vital accessibility adaptations aboard their newest vessel, Harmony.
Inclusive Waterways Experiences
Every year, the trust provides inclusive, therapeutic waterways experiences for individuals navigating severe physical illnesses, disabilities, or mental health struggles. This latest support guarantees that absolutely no one is left behind at the dock.
Official Presentation
The donation was officially presented to volunteers at the Peter Le Marchant Trust by the Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Colin Hamilton, and the Mayoress, Mrs Emma Lowe.

We look forward to welcoming more passengers on board and sharing the enjoyment of being out on the water.”
