This festive season, Santa Claus is going digital to ensure no child misses out on the Christmas magic. The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) has launched its heart-warming initiative to provide free, accessible letters from Santa specifically for children with visual impairments.
How to Request Your Accessible Santa Letter
Families can secure a magical message from the North Pole by visiting the RNIB website and submitting their request before the deadline of Sunday, November 30. For those who miss the online cutoff, there's still hope - from December 1, requests can be emailed directly to santa@rnib.org.uk.
Each request must include the child's full name, address, age, and their preferred format. Santa's tech-savvy elves will then work tirelessly to dispatch the letters, though delivery before Christmas cannot be guaranteed for orders received in December.
Multiple Formats for Maximum Accessibility
The RNIB understands that accessibility needs vary, which is why they're offering letters in several formats. Children can receive their Christmas message in braille, large print, audio, or email - the latter being particularly suitable for screen readers to vocalise Santa's personal greeting at home.
This thoughtful approach ensures that every child, regardless of their level of vision, can experience the thrill of receiving a personalised letter from Santa Claus.
Building on Last Year's Success
The campaign builds upon the tremendous success of previous years. In the last festive season alone, more than 2,000 children across the United Kingdom received accessible letters from Santa, bringing extra wonder and joy to their Christmas celebrations.
Beyond the letters, the RNIB's online shop features a range of accessible gifts designed to help everyone enjoy the Christmas spirit. The selection includes tactile festive cards that children can colour themselves, along with braille and large print games to keep the whole family entertained during the holiday period.
