Emergency services discovered the body of a man in a Birmingham canal on Tuesday afternoon, following a distress call to police.

Emergency Response at the Scene

West Midlands Police confirmed they were called to Bordesley Green East at 1.20pm on Tuesday, November 18, following reports of a man in the waterway near the River Cole.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman detailed their response, stating: "We were called to an incident in an area off Bordesley Green East in Yardley, Birmingham at 1.48pm. We sent an ambulance and paramedic officer to the scene."

Tragic Outcome Confirmed

Upon arrival, paramedics located the man but, tragically, he could not be saved. The man was declared dead at the scene.

A police spokesman later added that the man's death is not being treated as suspicious. The case will now be referred to the coroner as part of standard procedure.
