Major Emergency Response at River Wye
A significant emergency operation unfolded in the Midlands this morning after reports emerged of a person entering the River Wye in Hereford. Multiple emergency services including police, ambulance crews and fire and rescue teams descended upon the Nelson Street area near the river.
Man Located and Taken to Hospital
The coordinated search effort proved successful when emergency services located a man at 10.10am. Paramedics provided immediate medical attention at the scene before transporting the individual to hospital for further treatment. The current condition of the man has not been disclosed by authorities.
Police Continue Investigations
Despite the successful location of the individual, West Mercia Police confirmed officers will remain at the scene to carry out enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The force has appealed for anyone with information who hasn't yet spoken to police to come forward.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police stated: "Emergency services are currently in the Nelson Street area in Hereford following reports that someone had entered the river. Officers attended the scene with colleagues from the ambulance service and fire and rescue service, and located a man at 10.10am who has now been taken to hospital."
