A man has tragically died after being found unresponsive in a field at Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield.
Emergency Response at the Scene
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to a medical emergency at the park, off Thornhill Road, at 5.50am on Sunday, November 23.
The service dispatched a significant number of resources to the incident, sending three ambulances and a specialist paramedic to the scene in an effort to save the man's life.
Attempts to Save the Man
Upon arrival, paramedics discovered a man who was already receiving CPR. The ambulance crews immediately took over, administering advanced life support.
Despite the extensive efforts of all emergency personnel involved, the man's life could not be saved. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Investigation and Community Reassurance
West Midlands Police were also called to the park at around 5.55am. A blue forensic tent was erected near the Jamboree Stone, close to the Streetly Gate entrance, as part of the initial response.
The police have since confirmed that his death is not being treated as suspicious. A file is now being prepared for the coroner.
Officers remained in the area throughout Sunday to provide reassurance to the local community, which has been saddened by the event.
