A man in his thirties has been taken to hospital with injuries after a collision with a police vehicle in Birmingham. The incident occurred on Friday evening as officers were responding to an emergency call.

Emergency Response Leads to Collision

The collision took place at approximately 7:50 pm on Friday, November 14, 2025, on Katie Road in the Selly Oak area. According to West Midlands Police, the police car was travelling with emergency blue lights activated while responding to an incident.

The pedestrian, a local man aged in his 30s, was struck during the emergency response. Paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene promptly and transported the injured man to hospital for treatment.

Following the collision, police closed nearby Oak Tree Lane to facilitate emergency response and initial investigation work at the scene. The closure remained in effect for several hours as officers conducted their preliminary assessment.

In a statement released after the incident, a spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed: "Whilst responding to an incident on blue lights, a police vehicle was involved in a collision where a pedestrian was struck in Katie Road, Selly Oak, just before 8pm yesterday."
