A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital following a collision in Cannock. The incident involved a car and a motorcycle on New Penkridge Road. Emergency services arrived at the scene at 6:10 PM on Wednesday, May 20.
Injuries and Road Closure
Staffordshire Police confirmed that the motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The road was closed until 7:30 PM, with police cars, ambulances, and fire engines present at the scene. The driver of the car did not report any injuries.
Police Investigation and Appeal
Staffordshire Police are investigating the crash and have appealed for anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. A spokesperson for the force said: 'We were called at 6:10 PM yesterday (Wednesday 20 May) to New Penkridge Road in Cannock following reports of a collision. A motorbike and a car were involved. Officers attended along with colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, West Midlands Ambulance Service, and Midlands Air Ambulance. We closed the road while emergency services attended the scene. The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital by land ambulance. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing. The driver of the car did not report any injuries. Officers assisted in the recovery of the motorbike. The road re-opened shortly after 7:30 PM. Our inquiries are continuing.'

Ambulance Service Statement
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: 'We were called shortly before 6 PM to a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorbike on New Penkridge Road in Cannock. One ambulance, a paramedic officer, and the Midlands Air Ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival, we found the motorcyclist, who was assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious. He received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to New Cross Hospital for further assessment. The driver of the car did not require treatment from ambulance staff.'
