Emergency Services Respond to Major Collision

Multiple people are feared dead following a serious multi-vehicle collision in County Meath on Monday morning. The incident, which involved a bus, a truck, and a car, occurred at approximately 6.30am on November 11 at Gormanston Cross.

Scene Details and Emergency Response

Gardaí and multiple emergency service units rushed to the scene. Witnesses reported a significant presence, including at least six ambulances, medical vehicles, and several fire engines. The R132 road has been closed, with local diversions implemented while the emergency operation continues.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed their attendance, stating, “Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending the scene of a road traffic collision at Gormanston, Co Meath this morning.” They added that no further information was available at that time.

Casualties and Ongoing Enquiries

It is understood that there are serious concerns for at least three people following the major collision. One woman has been transported to Beaumont Hospital, where she is reported to be in a critical condition.

Bus Éireann confirmed that one of their vehicles, a route 101 service, was involved in the incident. A spokesperson said, “Emergency services and Bus Éireann personnel are currently at the scene. We will provide further information as it becomes available.”
