Three Men Hospitalized After Early-Morning Crash on Bescot Road in Walsall
Emergency services were dispatched to a road traffic collision in Walsall during the early hours of Monday, April 13, resulting in three men being transported to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be serious.
The incident occurred at approximately 1.42am at the junction of Wednesbury Road and Old Pleck Road on Bescot Road. Upon arrival, ambulance crews provided immediate medical treatment to the three male patients before conveying them to Walsall Manor Hospital for further care.
Emergency Response and Medical Details
A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that three ambulances were sent to the scene following reports of the collision. The spokesperson stated, "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Wednesbury Road and Old Pleck Road in Walsall at 1.42am and sent three ambulances to the scene. On arrival, crews found three men, who they treated for injuries not believed to be serious before conveying them to Walsall Manor."
The precise circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation, and West Midlands Police have been contacted for additional comment regarding the incident.
Transport Disruptions and Bus Diversions
The collision caused significant disruptions to local bus services during the morning commute. National Express West Midlands issued alerts to passengers about diversions affecting multiple routes.
At 6.26am, services 34, 37, and 39 were diverted via Wednesbury Road, Bescot Crescent, Broadway West, Wallows, Wood Green Road, and Axletree Way. Additionally, services 11 and 11A were rerouted via Wallows Lane and Bescot Crescent in both directions.
Fortunately, by 6.48am, the incident had been cleared, and all affected bus services resumed their normal routes, minimizing prolonged inconvenience for commuters.
Authorities continue to urge drivers to exercise caution in the area and follow any temporary traffic management measures that may be in place as investigations proceed.
