Morrisons has increased its Blue Light Card discount to 15 per cent for café purchases until Sunday, June 28, offering a temporary boost to NHS workers, emergency services staff, teachers, and armed forces personnel. After this weekend, the discount will revert to the standard 10 per cent.
New discount for Defence Discount Service cardholders
Alongside the Blue Light Card promotion, Morrisons has launched a new 10 per cent discount on all café purchases for military personnel holding a Defence Discount Service card. This nationwide offer will run throughout the summer, timed to coincide with Armed Forces Day on Saturday, June 27.
Customers can redeem the Defence Discount Service offer by presenting their valid card at the café checkout. The initiative aims to show appreciation for those serving in the armed forces.
Supermarket's gesture of gratitude
Will Reed, senior café trader at Morrisons, said: “We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who works so hard to keep us safe. To mark Armed Forces Day, we’re thrilled to introduce a new 10 per cent Café discount for Defence Discount Service cardholders, while also bumping up our Blue Light Card discount to 15 per cent until Sunday. It's a small token of our appreciation, and we hope it gives our everyday heroes a well-deserved treat in our cafés.”
The temporary increase and new discount reflect Morrisons' ongoing support for key workers and military personnel, providing a small reward for their service.
