BBC Traitors Star Dr Amos Ogunkoya Spotted in Bullring for Health Campaign
Dr Amos Ogunkoya, the 34-year-old doctor turned reality television star from the first series of BBC's The Traitors, has been seen in Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre. His appearance was part of a significant national campaign with Flora to promote the importance of proper nutrition and fueling the body.
Launching the Healthy Flora Index
Speaking exclusively to BirminghamLive, Dr Amos explained the campaign's purpose. "It's really important because we're kicking off the healthy Flora index, which is about nourishing your body, making sure that you're not skipping meals, you're fuelling properly and you actually knowing in advance what you need in your body to get the activity done," he said.
The initiative comes in response to concerning statistics from Flora's research. In the West Midlands, 46 percent of people admit to skipping breakfast when rushed, and approximately 27 percent claim to exercise on an empty stomach. Additionally, an estimated 20 percent of residents feel they are "running on empty" in their daily lives.
Addressing Energy and Nutrition Gaps
Dr Amos emphasized the broader message beyond just exercise. "The message to get out there is that people need to be fuelling themselves appropriately for their day, and it's not just exercise," he stated. He highlighted the common experience of energy depletion, adding, "We are definitely here to encourage people to energise their day so they don't run out of energy, because we've all been there - we've all been working hard and suddenly we have no energy left."
The campaign focuses on practical solutions, with Dr Amos noting, "This is about making sure we have healthy recipes, nutritious dense food to keep ourselves going." As a medical professional, he brings expertise to the tour, which aims to offer simple nutrition tips and advice on sustaining energy levels.
Tour Details and Background
Dr Amos began his UK tour with Flora in Birmingham on April 16, with plans to travel nationwide. This follows his rise to fame on The Traitors, where he was initially fake-eliminated in the first episode but returned dramatically, ultimately finishing in 11th place.
The Flora Food tour coincides with the lead-up to the TCS London Marathon 2026, where Flora is the official partner. The campaign encourages small, realistic recipe changes to help people "Start Something Better" in their health journeys.
This event underscores the growing focus on public health and nutrition in the community, leveraging celebrity influence to drive positive lifestyle changes.
