ITV's This Morning relationship expert Michelle Elman has shared a difficult personal health update, revealing she requires further brain surgery.
Health Challenge Behind the Scenes
The 32-year-old life coach, who has built a devoted following on the show, disclosed that a recent scan showed a new cyst had grown on her brain. Elman lives with hydrocephalus, a condition where fluid builds up in the brain, creating dangerous pressure that can be life-threatening if left untreated.
Addressing her supporters on social media, she explained the situation. "Yesterday I found out I need another brain surgery," she wrote on her Instagram story. "I have a cyst in my brain again and also the magnet in my brain needs replacing."
A History of Medical Struggles
This will not be the presenter's first major medical procedure. She currently has a metal magnet implanted in her brain to help regulate fluid flow and prevent dangerous accumulations.
Michelle has a significant medical history, having previously battled a brain tumour, a punctured intestine, and blocked bowels. As a result, she has already endured 15 separate operations.
She stated that while the upcoming surgery is "not urgent", it is necessary. She plans to schedule the procedure for next year to minimise disruption to her life and work, noting that "until then it's business as usual."
Overcoming Personal and Professional Hurdles
This health news follows a period of personal turmoil for the television star. She previously told This Morning hosts Ben Shepherd and Cat Deeley that her engagement ended after just 24 hours.
The relationship collapsed when she was contacted by another woman hours after her boyfriend of three years proposed, exposing his infidelity. She recounted the shock of the discovery while sitting on the famous This Morning sofa.
