Peter Andre has shared his unique perspective on why Jack Osbourne's participation in this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! could serve as an unexpected form of therapy following the death of his legendary father, Ozzy Osbourne.
Jungle Reflection Time
The Mysterious Girl singer, who famously finished in third place on the hit ITV show back in 2004, appeared on Good Morning Britain on November 14 to offer his insights about the upcoming series. Andre explained that the jungle environment provides significant downtime between filming that encourages deep personal reflection.
"I probably think that's why someone like Jack Osbourne doing it is a good thing for him," Andre told the programme. "I mean, I don't know his reasons for doing it, but it probably could be a bit of therapy for him. Because it is just you, you're in the wilderness. Yes, you're surrounded by people, but there's a lot of downtime, a lot of time that you're on your own."
Family Grief and Healing
Jack Osbourne enters the jungle just months after his family was devastated by the death of Ozzy Osbourne in July at age 76. The Black Sabbath frontman's passing has profoundly affected his entire family, as recently revealed during emotional discussions on The Osbournes podcast.
Jack's sister Kelly shared heartbreaking details about how the family has been coping, including sleeping next to their mother Sharon for the first two months after their father's death. Sharon herself confessed she now "hates going to bed at night" and "hates going into an empty room" after being married to Ozzy for over 50 years.
Kelly became emotional while discussing her morning routine with her father, revealing: "There is one resentment I have and that is I always heard dad going down the stairs in the morning and the first thing I always said to him was 'Morning dad, I love you!' and I'd call out and he'd say 'I love you more...' and walk down the stairs, but on the morning that he passed, I didn't say it."
The Jungle Experience
Peter Andre emphasised the unique nature of the I'm A Celebrity experience, noting that despite being surrounded by cameras and crew, contestants find themselves in unusual isolation. "Even though there's cameras everywhere, you can't see them. They're hidden, they're camouflaged. The cameramen - you can't talk to them, they won't answer you," he explained.
Andre concluded that this environment "brings a lot out of you. You're just you, and there's no phones" - suggesting it could provide Jack Osbourne with valuable space to process his grief away from the pressures of everyday life.
The new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! begins on Sunday, November 16 at 9pm on ITV1, STV and ITVX, featuring Jack Osbourne among this year's celebrity contestants.
