Following a hard-fought local election campaign for county, borough and district council seats in Brentwood and Ongar, I extend my congratulations to all those who have become councillors, and my commiserations to those who worked diligently but were unsuccessful on election night.
Conservative Victories
I am delighted that several strong Conservative candidates will now represent Brentwood residents: Jay Patel, Lesley Wagland and Tom Gordon. I look forward to working with all those elected for Brentwood Borough Council, Epping Forest District Council and Essex County Council within the Brentwood and Ongar constituency. Essex County Council is now led by Reform UK.
Campaign Priorities
Once the initial reorganisation of roles is complete, I will present a number of local campaigns to the newly-elected councillors. These include introducing speed restrictions outside Stapleford Abbotts Primary School, implementing a Weight Restriction Order for Ongar High Street, and installing traffic-calming measures on Hartswood Road.
Constituent Concerns
I understand that many of my constituents have significant concerns about how crucial issues will be managed by the new county administration. These issues include education for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, adult social care, and the maintenance of our roads.
I will continue to hold the council to account on behalf of my constituents, as I have always done. You can get in touch with me at www.alexburghart.org.uk.
