Aston Villa's upcoming Premier League matches against Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Brighton & Hove Albion have been rescheduled for television broadcast, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
Chelsea clash moved to Sunday
The visit to Stamford Bridge, originally scheduled for Saturday 22 February, will now take place on Sunday 23 February with a 1:30pm kick-off. The match will be shown live on Sky Sports.
Newcastle fixture shifted to Monday night
Villa's home game against Newcastle United, initially set for Saturday 1 March, has been moved to Monday 3 March, kicking off at 8pm. This fixture will also be broadcast on Sky Sports.
Brighton match rescheduled for Sunday
The trip to Brighton & Hove Albion, originally planned for Saturday 8 March, has been moved to Sunday 9 March, with a 2pm start time. This game will be shown live on Sky Sports as well.
Impact on fans and travel
The changes mean Villa supporters will need to adjust travel plans, particularly for the away fixtures at Chelsea and Brighton. The club advised fans to check updated travel information and plan accordingly.
A Villa spokesperson said: “We understand these changes can be inconvenient for supporters, but we appreciate their continued backing as we adapt to broadcast schedules.”
Broadcast selection highlights Villa's appeal
The selection of three consecutive Villa matches for live television underscores the growing interest in Unai Emery's side, who are competing for European places. The rescheduled games will be crucial in the run-in, with Villa aiming to secure a top-four finish.
All three fixtures are part of the Premier League's February-March 2025 schedule. Further changes may be announced for April matches pending cup progress.
