It kicked off with a Morning Mixer, where individuals were randomly assigned to teams, fostering new connections in a lively and engaging atmosphere. Afternoon Sessions and Trophies Galore
The lunchtime and afternoon segments saw teams from various local businesses competing for a range of creatively named trophies. These included:
- Smells Like Team Spirit – for overall team camaraderie
- To Kill a Mocking-birdie – awarded for the best team name
- Eye of the Tiger – recognising the best individual player
- Putter Fingers – a humorous award for the worst player
- I Like Big Putts – for the best shot, as nominated by fellow teams
- Hole Lotta Love – presented to the winning team
Celebrating the Winners and Highlights
The victorious team, 'The Leoputt Ladies', comprised women from local businesses such as Twenty Twenty and Maldron Hotel. They coordinated their outfits in matching leopard print, showcasing their team spirit and dedication. Andrew Hibbert from the Hilton Gateshead won the award for best shot with a snooker-cue style putt, demonstrating impressive skill and commitment that captivated onlookers.
The 19th Hole After-Putt Party
Awards were presented at the after-putt party, 'The 19th Hole', hosted in the Sports Zone at Country and Coyotes, formerly known as Bar 52. This venue provided a perfect setting for players to socialise after the event, extending the networking opportunities into the evening. The party was made possible by One Management Services, who generously hosted the gathering.
