First opened in 1929, the lido has undergone significant transformations and refurbishments over the years. It now boasts a dedicated sand play area, enhancing its appeal for families. Known affectionately as Ashby-by-the-Sea, the site is described as a sun trap, perfect for swimming and relaxing by the poolside.
Updated Swim Sessions for 2026
The lido will introduce new swimming sessions for the 2026 season:
- Family swims will be held daily from 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM.
- Lane swims are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Open swim sessions will run on Wednesdays during term times from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, suitable for all ages and abilities.
- Doggy splash sessions are also planned, with specific dates to be confirmed soon.
