Jet2's 5 New Routes from East Midlands Airport in 2026

Jet2 has officially confirmed the introduction of five brand-new flight routes from East Midlands Airport, scheduled to commence operations throughout 2026. This exciting expansion will connect passengers to a diverse array of destinations, ranging from sun-drenched Mediterranean islands to a vibrant African city, significantly broadening travel options from the Midlands hub.

Enhanced Connectivity and Seasonal Services

In addition to the new route announcements, Jet2 has bolstered its services to Jersey with extra flights and holiday packages. New Saturday services will run through to October, offering a reliable travel link to the Channel Islands. This move comes as a welcome development following the unfortunate collapse of Blue Islands, ensuring continued accessibility for holidaymakers.

Mike Grimes, East Midlands Airport’s Customer Services and Planning Director, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming developments. He stated, “We are so looking forward to summer 2026 – it’s going to be great to welcome SunExpress for the first time and to be able to offer new destinations to our customers.” Grimes further emphasised the airport's commitment to enhancing customer choice and experience, noting that these new routes, coupled with ongoing terminal improvements, are set to make summer 2026 a standout season for travellers seeking an effortless start to their holidays from East Midlands Airport.

Detailed Breakdown of the New Jet2 Routes

The launch schedule is strategically planned, with four of the five new routes set to debut in the summer of 2026, and one commencing during the 2026/27 winter season. Below is a comprehensive overview of the confirmed destinations:

Preveza, Greece

Jet2 will introduce services to Preveza, a picturesque Greek city located on the Mediterranean coast. This new route, launching in summer 2026, will provide travellers with direct access to the region's renowned sunshine and scenic beauty, perfect for those seeking a classic Hellenic getaway.

Thessaloniki, Greece

Another Greek destination joining the network is Thessaloniki. As part of Jet2's summer 2026 offering from East Midlands Airport, this route will open up opportunities to explore one of Greece's major cultural and historical hubs, known for its vibrant atmosphere and rich heritage.

Chania, Greece

Jet2 will operate brand-new weekly Tuesday services from East Midlands Airport to Chania, on the island of Crete, from 26th May to 27th October, 2026. This route marks a significant milestone, offering holidaymakers the chance to discover Crete’s breathtaking western region for the very first time directly from this airport base, enhancing accessibility to this popular destination.

The remaining new routes, including the African city and additional destinations, are set to be detailed further as part of Jet2's ongoing expansion strategy, promising even more choice for passengers in the coming year.
