Two flights have been canceled at Birmingham Airport today, Friday, May 1, as Emirates maintains a reduced flight schedule. The affected services include an arrival from Dubai and a departure to the same Middle Eastern hub.
The cancellations come amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which began on February 28. Emirates has been operating at 65 percent of its full capacity, according to Tim Clark, the airline's president. The carrier continues to serve over 100 global destinations but with a trimmed schedule.
Emirates issued its latest travel advisory on Wednesday, April 29, stating that it is closely monitoring the situation and will adjust operations accordingly. Passengers are strongly advised to verify the status of their flights before heading to the airport, even after completing check-in.
For travelers booked between Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, May 31, Emirates offers options to rebook on alternative flights or request a full refund. Those who booked after April 2 are eligible for one free date change across all cabin classes.
The airline emphasized that the safety and security of its passengers and crew remain its highest priority. Birmingham Airport has seen repeated cancellations of Emirates flights since the conflict began.
