A callous driver has been condemned by police after abandoning their critically injured passenger and fleeing the scene of a horrific motorway crash on the M6.
The incident occurred near Birmingham during the early hours of Wednesday morning, leaving emergency services scrambling to save the life of the abandoned victim.

According to West Midlands Police, the collision involved a single vehicle that crashed dramatically on the southbound carriageway between junctions 5 and 4a. The force of the impact was so severe that it left the passenger with life-threatening injuries.
Rather than staying to help emergency services or comfort their injured companion, the driver made the shocking decision to abandon the wrecked vehicle and escape on foot.
