Police are urgently appealing for witnesses after a woman died in a serious multi-vehicle collision on the M6 motorway in Warwickshire.
Details of the fatal motorway collision
The incident, which involved four vehicles, occurred on the southbound carriageway between Junction 4 and Junction 3, just after Corley Services. It happened at approximately 10.30am on Wednesday, 10 December.
The vehicles involved in the pile-up were:
- A black Ford Transit van
- An articulated HGV
- A silver BMW
- A black Vauxhall Mokka
The driver of the black Ford Transit van, a woman aged in her 60s, was rushed to hospital following the collision but sadly died from her injuries. Warwickshire Police have informed her next of kin and are providing support through specially trained officers.
Warwickshire Police launch witness appeal
Investigating officers have launched a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or the manner in which the vehicles were being driven prior to the collision.
A key part of the appeal is a request for dashcam footage. Police are urging any motorists who were travelling on that section of the M6 around the time of the crash and may have captured relevant video to contact them immediately.
