Great Barr Road Partially Closed After Three-Car Crash

Police have partially closed a section of Newton Road in Great Barr following a three-car collision outside the Aldi supermarket at the Scott Arms junction. The incident occurred just before 1pm on Friday.

Emergency Services Response

West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) paramedic to the scene after receiving reports of the crash at 12:56pm. Paramedics assessed one man for minor injuries, who was subsequently discharged at the scene.

Fire crews from Erdington and Aston stations also attended to make the road safe. They completed their work and left the scene at 2:10pm.

Road Closure Details

The collision involved three vehicles on Newton Road at the junction with Walsall Road, a main commuting route. Police partially closed the road while emergency services dealt with the incident. Motorists were advised to seek alternative routes during the closure.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a three-car RTC at the Scott Arms in Great Barr at 12.56pm. A HART paramedic attended the scene. We assessed one patient, a man, for minor injuries before he was discharged at the scene."

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson added: "We were called to a three-car collision on the roadway at 12.55pm. All persons were out and fit and well. We had crews from Erdington and Aston attend. We left at 2.10pm."

No further injuries were reported, and the road was reopened after the scene was cleared.
